Troy, PA - Memorial Auditorium - November 20, 2023
Dr. Richard "Rick" Husband was inducted into the Troy Area School District (TASD) Foundation's Hall of Distinguished Alumni Award at Memorial Auditorium. High school students, Foundation Dignitaries including Past Award Winners, and members of Dr. Husband's family were on hand to witness the unveiling of the official portrait. Carol Lane, President of the Foundation welcomed the audience. Betsy Seeley, Committee Chair, implored students witnessing the event to follow their passion and work hard as they are also part of the Troy legacy. Duane Haight, Alumni Committee, made introduction with a biography and testimonials to the dedication and hard work for the Troy community by Dr. Husband in his profession as a General Practitioner. Many members of the Troy High School Class of 1973 were also in attendance to support their classmate.
In his acceptance speech, Dr. Husband thanked his family for their support to become a doctor and understanding of the long hours required to maintain the practice. He recognized his brothers and their collective pursuit of higher education, however, also appealed to students that our community also needs tradesmen, like his father, who was a hard working construction equipment technician.
